Join us to celebrate the season, meet with friends, eat drink and be cheery!
We will begin to meet and mingle at 5:30pm. A buffet of food and appetizers will be available as well as soft drinks, adult beverages and other festive libations!
This is also the evening when we say good-bye to those dedicated volunteers who are leaving their positions on the Board of Directors for NKBA-NNJ as well as swearing in our 2014 officers. All in all, it is an event not to be missed.
Please come and see this new and beautiful showroom with many vignettes and ideas for countertop solutions. Atlas Granite and Marble is a full service custom stone fabricator specializing in kitchen and bathroom cabinetry / vanity tops, tub surrounds as well as hearth and fireplace surrounds.
As we celebrate the season of hope and giving, we ask that attendees bring a new,
unwrapped toy which will be donated to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
My heartfelt thanks to the many industry friends who sent their remembrances and condolences about my Dad, Joseph Libman, who passed away at the tender age of 104.
The Libman Family immigrated to the United States from Liverpool, England in the 1920's. My grandfather was a store fixture manufacturer and struggled to make a living to support his wife and eight children.
Dad learned the trade over the next decade and eventually started to manufacture tabletops under the name Libby Manufacturing in Newark, NJ. Libby shipped tabletops as far West as Chicago before Dad joined the Army during World War II.
Following the War, Dad resumed manufacturing tabletops and started to use Formica Brand Laminate as it's main product. As the business grew and the use of Formica started to revolutionize the commercial and consumer markets, Formica Corporation appointed the newly named Fabricators Supply Company its official distributor for North Jersey Fabricators Supply sold to cabinetmakers, contractors and lumber yards. In the early to mid 1960's Fabricators Supply helped develop customers into a new business model through a new organization called AIKD, American Institute of kitchen Dealers.
Joe and Fabricators Supply Company remained strong supporters of the industry as AIKD grew into the NKBA. Dad and his fellow wholesale distributors played a significant part in helping the kitchen and bath industry become the large scale business it is today.
Joseph Libman lived the American Dream and proved hard work, honesty, persistence, love of family and country are the true measure of a persons life.
Rest in Peace, Dad.

» A Word of Thanks from Our President
Many thanks to all sponsors, volunteers and golfers who participated in the 2013 Bill
Farnan Memorial Scholarship Golf outing on September 23rd.
A beautiful fall, sunlit day that set the tone for a wonderful day of fun, golf and
camaraderie. More importantly, money was raised for college scholarships to aid young students searching for an ever more costly education.
The NKBANNJ Board would like to commend and thank our Chairpeople for this event, Debbie Kerr, CKD and Margot Bartell. This energetic duo has been organizing and running this event for many years, and without their tireless efforts, there would be no event.
To those members who have not participated as a sponsor or participant, we ask you to become involved for 2014. We need the continued support of our members to help this and other chapter endeavors continue to grow and flourish. Please consider sponsoring, volunteering or enjoying a wonderful day with your fellow industry partners.
I hope to see everyone at our October 8th meeting at the Morris Museum in Morristown, NJ. VP of Programs Marlene Wangenheim has been doing a fabulous job of elevating our programs and venues. Please support your chapter by attending this fun and informative event.
Best wishes for a happy and prosperous Fall season!
