» IBS and KBIS to Co-Locate in Las Vegas Beginning in 2014

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 22 — The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) today announced an agreement to co-locate the International Builders' Show (IBS) and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas beginning in February 2014.

The two events will remain separate and distinct shows held simultaneously at the Las Vegas Convention Center through 2016, creating Design and Construction Week, one of the world's largest gatherings focused on new ideas, products and technologies to design, build and remodel homes.

» A Word of Welcome from Our President

Dear Fellow NKBA Members,

I am very pleased and excited to be your elected president for 2013.  I am looking forward to a challenging and rewarding year for our organization and our state.

Hurricane Sandy devastated our land, our homes and the people of the tri-state area beyond anything we have seen in our lifetime.  If the kitchen is indeed the "heart of the home", then it is our duty as an organization and as professionals to help mend as many broken hearts as possible. With our expertise as kitchen designers and industry suppliers, we must commit ourselves to providing our clients, many of whom have had their lives torn apart, with professional, caring treatment.

The economic outlook for the coming year looks to be improving and now is the time to develop an aggressive business plan to move your business forward.  The new board is making plans to provide our members with exciting, thought provoking monthly meetings.  Great speakers, new venues, new programs, and new formats to help our members network, earn CEU credits, and gain knowledge in design, marketing, technology, business practices and products.

Our goal for 2013 is to encourage our over 500 members to attend our monthly meetings.  We ask our dealer and supplier principals to not only send their experienced people, but newer designers and salespeople as well.

I have been a proud member of NKBA for over thirty five years and have gained immeasurable knowledge about our industry from participating. More importantly, I have made lifelong friends and customers. Please feel free to communicate with me via cell phone, email or at our chapter meetings to discus ideas, issues or concerns.
