Presented by Mary Jo Peterson, CKD, CBD, CAPS, CAASHOver a lifetime, many people will live in environments that are no longer capable of being comfortable and supportive to our physical status. As we age things like vision, senses, dexterity, mobility, agility and cognition will change. Perhaps someone in the family has suffered a traumatic event, preventing them from performing tasks that were once simple and intuitive. Perhaps we are simply left handed. With more multi-generational families living under the same roof, “Universal Design” or designing for all ages and abilities, becomes monumental to the layout of any successful space. "There have been many members of our association through the years that have come and gone. Many have been very dedicated, some more than others. I would like to recognize one individual that has been extremely instrumental in building and maintaining our association at the highest level. This is someone that I would call a mentor to me and all of our chapter officers. If you ever have a question, you know you pick up the phone and call him. His line is always open for us.
On behalf of the Northern New Jersey Chapter, it is my honor to present Alan with this plaque for all the years of dedication that you have given this Chapter.
Like I said earlier, this is one of the Best chapters in the Nation and Alan, you had a lot to do with that."
